Abstract
In this paper, I am investigating the construct of mnemopoetics from the perspective of an artistic disemboguement further addressed in cultural activism, within the frame of the field recording and site–specific sound intervention practices. In the conceptual exposition of the construct, I am proposing several directions in tracing the physical, psychological, biological, and anthropological origins of interrelations between the culture of memory, sensory perception, and the notion of energy propagation and exchange. Following the recent scientific insights, but also challenging theories not generally accepted by mainstream science, I am discussing possible links between sound, organization of matter, cumulative memory, and our physiological predispositions for the conscious treatment of the environment. The paper is focused on a particular environment, the island of Korčula in the South Adriatic.
