"Voda sanja" (Water is dreaming), commissioned by the NOMUS festival and written for pianist Nataša Penezić, will premiere at the concert "Ispod površine", which includes works by Manja Ristić, Katarina Miljković, Ana Gnjatović, Jasmina Mitrušić, and Frederic Rzewski.

Composition for prepared piano, tape, field recordings, and found objects
This composition explores modes of listening that reveal musical meaning emerging through somatic synchronisation with bodies of water and the natural underwater habitats of specific sites. In the spirit of mnemosonic topographies practice, sound is understood as a sensory medium, an epistemology shaped through immersion and the porosity of a body that remembers, absorbs, and responds.
From landscapes bearing the scars of affective memory to ecologically vulnerable micro-environments, this performance, grounded in intuitive listening, raises questions about the possibility of perceptual intertwining between humans and nature: moments of synchronisation, co-presence, and shared breathing. Listening and being with place become ways of revealing invisible relationships, of sensing how places remember and how that memory inscribes itself into sound, which we encounter and interact with.
Field recordings of environments, ranging from coastal and upland regions to the rivers and lakes of Scotland, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and even the distant waters of Thailand, serve as acoustic templates for an experimental score composed for pianist Nataša Penezić. These sonic fragments are concrete sensory coordinates: points of contact between place, body, and memory that, in performance, unfold into a new embodied topography of sound, both fragile and enduring.
